Taking over Monsanto

In the last years, different groups have been regular visitors at Monsanto's offices (1 | 2), test sites (1|2 |3) and during shareholder meetings (1), so that they decided to move their offices there permanently. Office space at the European headquarters in Bruxelles will also be provided to other anti-GE campaigns like Stop Bayer and Corporate Watch. The take-over is supposed to be completed soon, with a public party planned for 1 May.
Under the slogan "Don't hate the corporations, buy them!" a global coalition of anti-GE activists has decided on a new strategy in campaigning against genetic engineering and is preparing for a hostile take-over of Monsanto, the world's biggest producer of GE crops.
Bush & Cheney Resign Hastert Wrestles with U.S. Presidency

Washington- Last night’s surprise announcement from the Whitehouse that both George W. Bush and Richard Cheney are stepping down from office sent Washington wags into a tailspin of confusion and controversy. Both Republican leaders have been under fire recently for mishandling of the so-called War on Terrorism and their actions with regard to the 9/11 tragedy, but no one close to the Whitehouse expected such a move. "It appears as if Bush and Cheney just cut bait and bailed", said former administration spokesman Imma Fisher, "the whole town is in turmoil." It's not certain if the present hearings on 9/11 have any bearing on the unexpected turn of events or that rumors of the U.S. Treasury being found empty in the early hours of the morning is somehow related to the sudden departure.
Corsica becomes EU Deportation Centre

In an effort to control migrants, it was decided to use the island Corsica in the Mediterranian Sea as a central deportation centre by 2005. As an intended side effect, this will also help to control protesters who repeatedly do actions at deportation centres and other facilities all over Europe (like for example at the new deportation centre at the airport Schiphol). A German hardliner on the issues, Beckstein, was quoted as commenting on the effect that this will have on organisations like no border: "Now they'll will have to borrow boats from Greenpeace." Plans are also underway, to use the island Sardinia, South of Corsica, as an immigration centre for all refuges. The Australian minister xx was flown in to report from experiences with Woomera and other centres. Both projects will be subsidies by the EU as creation of work opportunities on the islands.
Last weekend in Bruxelles, the EU foreign ministered pushed repression against migrants and other foreigners further in their effort to build Fort Europe.

CBS/Viacom News Network to help bring together the Vibrant Staff of the Independant News Network with the resources and Global Consumer Reach of the CBS news network.
This follows a meeting of the IMC Board of Directors and key Indymedia
shareholders where it was decided that Indymedia needed to branch out from its traditional Liberal readership demographic to encompass more mainstream news interests and readerships.
Shayne Brown, president of the Asia Pacific Indymedia Consortium said "It's fine we have our loyal readership we do. We wouldn't of gotten where we are without them. But our growth has been marred by our inability to target advertising at the so called 'Soccer Mom' demographic"
A spokesperson for CBS/Viacom said "This represents an exciting stage for the CBS/Viacom Network. The Indymedia branding represents fantastic marketing oportunities for our clients to market product at the 'alternative' and 'hip hop' youth market that the Indymedia Network represents.

Come tutto il mondo ha potuto vedere, grazie alla presenza di una telecamera che dimostra forse le premeditazione dell’assalto, quattro civili sicuramente americani, come ha confermato con molte ore di ritardo il Dipartimento di Stato, sono state uccisi, massacrati, bruciati, fatti a pezzi, esibiti come trofei di guerra e messi in mostra su un ponte.
