Also call the Governor and request that the National Guard and anyone checking residences to rescue the animals as they come upon them!!!
Apparently the receptionist remarked that every call is logged and that not many requests have come in for this.

I think Sgt. Mike Minton is unfit to hold a gun. It takes a deranged person to do what he did and just show the emotion of a rock. He is dangerous. He needs to be fired and possibly committed for mental health treatment.

I agree that this man needs a mental evaluation. He seems to enjoy killing friendly, harmless pets who belong to the people he is sworn to protect. He obviously doesn't think much more of the humans than he does these dogs. How could he mame and torture their beloved pets? Here's what worries me even more, though. If he thinks these animals are better off put out of their misery because they've been without food and water, what does he do when he finds a person inside an attic in poor condition? Are they not in the same state as these dogs? What does he do to them?

Sgt Mike Minton is guilty of cruelty to animals and should be arrested, jailed, and then fired from his position. I would not want such an incredibly stupid and insensitive jerk patrolling my streets!

It is a scientific fact that most homicidal maniacs began their careers killing animals. Anyone who can kill an otherwise healthy animal without any remorse should NOT be a public servant. Let's hope the State government pays attention to this and removes this man and throws him in jail!!!

Last week CNN aired 2 pieces (one by Anderson Cooper, the other by Ed Lavandera)about the murdered dogs. When interviewed on camera, Sheriff Jack Stephens of St. Bernard Parish denied any knowledge of his men's involvement in the incidents. I wrote to him and sent him the 9/9/05 Dallas News video in which Minton is seen defending the dog shooting. I also cc'ed the president, governor, and Louisiana senators. We must put pressure on the federal, state, and local authorities to prosecute these monsters (with Mike Minton at the top of the list)to the full extent of the (all-too-weak) law.

I've created a Soap Box alert on Congress.org so that people can click on appropriate agencies (including national and local media) and demand that the creatures who took part in the massacre be brought to justice.

For a few dollars anyone can create a Soap Box alert on this site. I think it would be highly effective if more people created alerts on this issue. You can also use site to create snail mail letters, print them out, and mail them to the appropriate agencies.
It is imperative we insist upon more coverage of this issue. Not only was this an obscene abuse of power, but it was horribly cruel. These poor animals were not even shot in the HEAD so they could die quickly. They were shot in the BELLIES and suffered agonizing pain as they bled to death.
Sheriff Jack Stephens had said that the perpetrators need their heads examined and have no business being in law enforcement. Let us FORCE him to stick to his words.
Please, write letters, create Soap Box alerts, do all you can do to keep this issue alive.
Letters and phone calls DO make a difference.
The mass media wasn't even covering the animals until activists flooded them with demands for stories of the animal victims. Every phone call, every letter COUNTS.

I think that man has no heart and can't wait to see what he thinks of whats commin to him. i should put it this way what would he do if his family was homless like that and people went around shooting them he wouldn't like it at all unless he is that cold hearted. or would any one love such a crul hearted man i know i couldn't i would love dogs way more and nothin here is gonna change I would slap his so hard and punch him. i'm supprised god hasen't come down to slap him his self. no offence to god or any thing. but it's that shocking
